Mental Load

The invisible overload trap and what you can do against it

Care keeps our society and families together. Caring for someone or something often means having to think about everything all the time. Over time, this can lead to mental strain, also known as mental load. This involves constant to-do lists swirling around in our heads (making doctor's appointments; remembering birthdays; running errands; thinking carefully about what we need; reminding partners, relatives or children about birthdays, errands, appointments, etc.) and can lead to overload.

This event aims to highlight the mental burden and the stress that often results from it, as well as to introduce helpful approaches for coping with overload.

  • What is Mental Load? What am I responsible for? What do I have to organise?
